Charles Hoskinson, the billionaire mathematician and founder of Cardano, rejected claims that the blockchain operates under centralized control. He responded to a recent accusation that Cardano is managed by only three entities. According to Hoskinson, critics will continue to spread fear, uncertainty, and doubt (FUD) about Cardano for years.
Misinformation About Cardano’s Control
Hoskinson addressed a critic’s statement claiming that Cardano is not decentralized. The critic argued that since the Cardano Foundation, Hoskinson’s Input Output Global (IOG), and Emurgo control the network, it cannot be better than Bitcoin, which has no central authority.

Hoskinson refuted this claim and expressed frustration over the spread of misinformation. He emphasized that correcting such misunderstandings requires millions of dollars and years of effort. He also predicted that critics would still be making these claims even in 2030.
Unexpected Praise for XRP ($2.02)
In early March, Hoskinson surprised the crypto community with unexpected praise for XRP. He referred to it as a “great technology” and a “global standard.” His statement came in response to a tweet from Peter Schiff about former U.S. President Donald Trump mentioning ADA, XRP, SOL ($132.32), ETH ($3,099.12), and BTC ($90,002.00) as part of the U.S. crypto stockpile.

Ripple’s chief technology officer (CTO), David Schwartz, reacted with shock to Hoskinson’s remarks, tweeting, “Am I dreaming?!” In response, Hoskinson explained that he respected XRP for its ability to survive harsh market conditions over the past decade.
He also acknowledged XRP’s strong community and stated that after studying its code and protocol, he developed an appreciation for XRP and Schwartz’s work.
