Popular decentralized protocol, Chainlink has announced a new upgrade to its Data streams, providing developers with a high throughput. The protocol made the disclosure on Wednesday through its official page on X, providing insight into key details relating to the upgrade.

Introducing the Multistream upgrade for Chainlink Data Streams.

One decentralized oracle network (DON) can now support 1000s of unique data points per second—a 1000x throughput increase.

In the post, Chainlink said the “Multistream” upgrade for its Data Streams will enable one decentralized oracle network (DON) to support 1,000 unique data points per second. As indicated, the latest addition provides each DON with fresh 1,000x throughput.

In addition to the increased network strength, Chainlink also said the latest addition will improve operations to allow Streams to launch faster than before. By that, the firm said the Multistream is the new parallelized architecture for Data Streams.

With the new introduction, the Data Streams will enhance its presence on a growing number of chains where decentralized finance needs data. Similarly, Chainlink said the innovation will provide developers with various types of data while enhancing the programmability of how the data are consumed.

That said, the Data Streams aid the design of high-frequency decentralized finance solutions. Chainlink’s decentralized low-latency data infrastructure will support the tools.

The latest innovation further highlights the growing impact of the protocol in the sector. However, LINK ($14.96), the native token of Chainlink in the last 24 hours soared by 7.1% and it is currently worth $14.63 according to Coinmarketcap.

Side Note On Chainlink

It is worth mentioning that the launching of the upgrade surface shortly after Chainlink partnered with Celo, Hyperlane, and Velodrome to launch a cross-chain version of Tether USDT ($1.00) on the OP ($0.84) Superchain. As announced the innovation will enhance interoperability and liquidity of the USDT stablecoin.

More so, the new Super USDT stablecoin will be supported by equivalent USDT reserves stored on Celo, an Ethereum scaling tool. Meanwhile, the official announcement explains Chainlink infrastructure provides the new token with its cross-chain functionality.

Supporting the system, Hyperlane, another interoperability protocol, will ensure uninterrupted access to the super stablecoin. The launching of the token underlines the growing reputation of Chainlink in the blockchain sector.

In July 2024, Binbits reported that Chainlink synergized with Fidelity International and Sygnum to launch Net Asset Value (NAV) data on-chain. The innovation according to the report will improve transparency and real-time data accessibility.
