0xngmi, the developer of the DeFi (decentralized finance) analytics platform “DefiLlama,” announced on the 19th that it will fork the platform. There seems to be a dispute within the company.

0xngmi emphasized that no hacking occurred, but explained the situation as follows:

The person who manages both Defillama’s twitter and domain decided to launch their own token, even though the rest of the team didn’t want it.
That’s why our team at DefiLlama launched a new platform: Llama.Fi.

He also added that a “hostile takeover” was about to take place. About the new platform “Llama.Fi”, Mr. 0xngmi explained that it is a DeFi TVL (total deposit amount) information aggregation site. He continued, “We’re going to get rid of ads and things like that, provide accurate data, and be more transparent.”

What is DefiLlama
DefiLlama is a website that provides data on DeFi trading volume, fees, and much more. It also operates an aggregator that helps people trade at the best prices from various decentralized exchanges (DEXs).
DefiLlama reported on the 19th that the trading volume on its aggregator platform, which it launched in early January, reached approximately 660 billion yen ($5 billion). “DeFiLlama contributors and users may have a pleasant surprise,” he tweeted, hinting at a token airdrop.

0xngmi is the top contributor of the DefiLlama app on Github. Some of the other top code contributors on the Github repository also shared 0xngmi’s message about moving to the new platform.

Meanwhile, DefiLlama’s parent company, Llama Corp, has denied that a hostile takeover is about to take place. He explained as follows.

Llama Corp, which has operated DefiLlama for the past three years, will continue to run the business. I regret Mr. 0xngmi’s actions. We want to resolve matters personally and amicably.

DefiLlama said that its Telegram account is also an inaccurate claim that a hostile takeover is underway, with 0xngmi and others “attempting to seize DefiLlama’s intellectual property (IP) and community.” said.
