OpenAI Inc. has made a groundbreaking move by introducing its highly anticipated ChatGPT generative AI tool to smartphones.
The company launched its iPhone version on Thursday and has plans to extend its services to Android devices in the near future.
This long-awaited development allows users to access the ChatGPT app directly from the Apple Inc.’s App Store.
The smartphone version closely resembles the web-based application that has recently caused a stir in the technology industry, shaping the landscape of artificial intelligence services.
OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT, has stated that the smartphone app is currently available in the United States and will gradually roll out to other countries in the following weeks.
The app itself is free to download and will synchronize a user’s chat history across different devices and the web.
However, to enjoy faster response times, users will need to subscribe to ChatGPT Plus, which comes at a cost.
This premium version not only guarantees enhanced speed but also provides users with exclusive previews of upcoming features and access to the advanced GPT-4 AI system.
