Old technology, new applications. When it's simple it's better.

Lost Energy Source?

In a post on X (once Twitter), they talk about something forgotten.

"Science and Invention magazine published an article about Plauson's invention in 1922.
A balloon made of aluminum was filled with hydrogen or helium and at an altitude of 270 meters produced a direct current of 400 volts with a force of 1.8 amperes.
Two balloons with a capacitor battery gave a power of 81 kilowatts in a day. As the author writes, "Its output is very large..... There is no doubt that this invention will soon come into general use throughout the world. Especially in rural areas and wherever water power is scarce.
The time is not far distant when nearly all our energy will be derived from the atmosphere..... It is the cheapest known form of energy, much cheaper than water power..... no destructive thunderstorms occur near such aerial power stations, because the balloons rapidly discharge the largest thundercloud, safely and silently through grounded spark gaps."  An invention that could provide cheap and affordable electricity to the entire world. Is that why it was forgotten?"

Free Energy

We all know the reasons. When something is free and has no outlets for revenue it's not worth it.
But in this case, simple is better. And what could be better than something that has always been the reason why using crypto is difficult?

Energy.

Energy to maintain the nodes.
Energy to maintain the Blockchain.
Energy to compute the blocks.
Energy to be able to make transactions... slaves as always, of something that costs.

Maybe, as this post explains, deliberately forgotten.

No problem!
We are here to remind you that these things could be applied today.
Mining with free energy? Why not, when the costs to obtain it would be negligible.

These applications of old ideas must obviously be verified independently and without prejudice... but why not try?

Is it better to pay companies?
