In what could be a massive milestone in the digital arena, OpenAI – an American-based AI firm is gearing up to develop human-like artificial intelligence. According to a blog post by its co-founder, Sam Altman, the company plans to bring the first-ever AI agents into the workforce this year, changing the output of companies.

Altman says OpenAI has all it takes to design and develop a solution that enhances the relationship between humans and AI and provide human-like intelligence. In the blog post titled “Reflections,” the co-founder added that the company is now aiming beyond superintelligence in the true sense of word and putting all measures in place to come up with tools that will bring AI more closer to the people.

While emphasizing the growing enterprise adoption of agentic AI, Altman says OpenAI will work assiduously in the new year to continuously bridge the existing gap between AI and other trending digital sectors like blockchain and crypto. He believes AI could increase transparency in crypto trading, allowing humans to exchange digital assets without direct human intervention.

Basically, AI agents, also known as agentic AI are artificial intelligence mechanisms that analyze trends and deliver autonomous decision-making. They possess the ability to comprehend difficult goals independently, come up with decisions, and undertake certain actions without much human intervention. In essence, these tools exhibit goal-directed behavior to effectively execute multi-step reasoning tasks.

Altman believes the invention of these tools could improve scientific discovery and innovation. This could in turn increase productivity and prosperity in the digital arena, he added.

Meanwhile, don’t forget OpenAI completely changed the narrative in the AI landscape following the launch of ChatGPT. This innovation triggered what many described as the AI revolution in the digital space. According to Altman, the development of ChatGPT brings some of the upsides that people have always hoped for AI.
